ABOUT THE HEADLINERS:
Mitch’s music is recognised both nationally and internationally. He has had many achievements, from his song “Coming Back” being used to promote NFL Green Bay Packers first home open season game in 2016 to performing internationally and Sell Out Headline Australian Shows.
2017 was a great year for Mitch with the release of EP “Southerly Change” debuting at #2 for 10 days on the iTunes Blues Charts. In September, first single “Burning” from impending EP was released. With its beautiful harmonies and heartfelt lyrics the track sky-rocketed up the Charts and has already achieved over 1.6 million streams on Spotify.
An evolution of Steele McMahon’s solo work, the Brisbane-based octet has an eclectic, genre-bending sound that reimagines elements of old school funk, reggae, ska and indie rock. Since the formation of its current line-up in September 2015, The Steele Syndicate has played regularly at established Brisbane live music venues, performed at The Sydney Opera House, headlined a community festival on the Sunshine Coast, toured to Byron Bay, and played ‘A Set Adrift’ on a yacht off Mooloolaba. The band has entered and won two band competitions – the Sigma Stockies Band Competition (2016) and the Brightside Homegrown Battle of the Bands (2015). Packing the punch of its acclaimed live set into a record, The Steele Syndicate released its debut EP, ‘Antipodes’, on August 4th, 2016. The launch was celebrated with a headlining show at The Triffid in Newstead playing to nearly 600 fans. Since its release, the EP and lead single ‘Where I Need To Be’ have received nationwide airplay on local and community radio.
